I was invited to attend Mediviron UOA Clinic 'Attainable Perfection Carboxytherapy Event not long ago, so here's my blogpost about the experience ;D
So, if you did read my journey on HCG Weight Loss Program I did not long ago, you must be familiar with UOA Mediviron Clinic. For those who don't, it is the only clinic under Mediviron that not only offer general health checkup, but also for non surgical aesthetic service.
I was invited once again to learn about another service offered by Mediviron UOA clinic which is the Carboxytheraphy treatment. It was a casual session where we took some group pictures. We were greeted by Mediviron UOA Clinic’s Clinical Division Director, Dr. Jasmine Ruth and then listened to some explanation and also live demonstration on the treatment from Dr Lashela.

But first, let me explain a little bit about Carboxytheraphy.
CARBOXYTHERAPHY
This treatment was originated from the Royal Spas of France in 1932 with the treatment for patients afflicted by peripheral arterial occlusive disease. But, now there are also used for treatment of stretch marks, cellulite, and hypertrophic scars. It's also effective to help shape the face, chapped skin, and for acne and skincare too
Not only that, this treatment is not centralized to just one part of the body, but you can use it for treatment of different problems on different body parts.
For example; eyelids, face, neck, arms, stomach, buttocks,and legs.

HOW IT WORKS?
Carboxytherapy takes advantage of a physiological principle known as oxygen off-
loading. Oxygen is a vital component for human body, oxygenated blood are carried through out our body for it to function, while deoxygenated blood will be carried back to the heart then lung so that newly inhaled oxygen will be 'diffused' into the blood, again to be carried to all body parts that needs them.

Problems like dark under eye circles, cellulite, and scars are believed to caused, at least in part, due to poor blood flow to the region.
By injecting a small amount of carbon dioxide gas into the area, we are “tricking” the body into increasing the oxygen flow to the area by compelling the red blood cells to pick up all of the excess CO2 (carbon dioxide) can be carried back to the lungs for elimination from the body with the next exhalation.
DEMONSTRATION
On to the demonstration, after some explanation on the treatment we were ushered to the treatment room to see how the treatment goes on.
We were shown both treatment for cellulite and stretch mark on the inner leg. For Cellulite treatment, the fine needles are injected directly into the layer of fat for 8 minutes to 15 minutes.
Based on the patient, the feeling when being injected by the needle is just almost like a small pin prick and sometimes the pain is almost nonexistence.
The treatment of stretchmarks and scars is relatively painless because the skin doesn’t have the same ability to sense pain. Some pressure from the gas may be felt as the stretchmarks are distended, and they can feel a bit itchy, but again this subsides in about five minutes once the gas is absorbed by the body. Scars generally feel no pain because there are no nerves in scar tissue.
Meanwhile when treating the eyelids, the lower eyelids will feel puffy, like they were up crying all night, but that will subside once the gas is absorbed over the next five to ten minutes.
The treatment of cellulite and fatty deposits on the arms, abdomen, and legs has a unique sensation of its own. This is because a larger amount of the gas is injected directly into the offending fat deposits and allowed to expand. While the gas is expanding, you may feel some pressure in the area being treated that feels similar to when the arm is squeezed by a blood pressure cuff. The areas will feel warm and tingly for up to 24 hours after the treatment as the circulation to the area is improved.

When injected via a specific technique, carbon dioxide gas is directly toxic to fat cells. The fat cells literally burst and are eliminated by the body.
How many treatments will I need?
This depends upon the severity of the problem being treated. Usually, six to twelve treatments spaced one week apart yields an excellent result.
Are there any side effects associated with carboxytherapy?
The only real possible side effect of carboxytherapy is the potential for a bruise at the injection site. Usually, the eyelids can be treated without leaving any marks, making it a truly “nodowntime” procedure. Bruising is very common when treating the arms and legs.
Are there any risks associated with carboxytherapy?
There are no known risks associated with carboxytherapy. Carbon dioxide injection has been safely used for years to facilitate endoscopic surgeries of the abdomen. Carbon dioxide is also being injected directly into the bloodstream by invasive cardiologists for certain diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
How long does a typical treatment session last?
The average carboxytherapy treatment takes approximately fifteen to thirty minutes to complete.

At the end of the demo session, we were shown to the Premier Aesthetic Room which is usually for the VIPS, and were offered some refreshment ;D I was fasting during that day, but they were so kind and 'tapau' some for me to have when i break my fast! So nice right ;D
