Mono Coffee Launching @ Publika, Solaris Dutamas

Hello guys!

I love a good cup of coffee! It makes everything feels better; meanwhile hanging out with friends over a cup of coffee is probably one of my favourite thing to do. *Humming Julie Andrew's My Favourite Things song*

Nowadays great coffee places have been popping out everywhere and it's really hard to catch up with them. Therefore finding hidden gems among it is a very exciting experience for me especially since I will get to share it with you guys.

So, while we are at it let me share with you about the newly launched Mono Coffee located in Publika, Solaris Dutamas. It's actually a sister brand of Cosan Coffee but unlike it, Mono Coffee serves variety of food menu while Cosan Cofee focuses on serving just drinks.

I was given the chance to attend their launching ceremony as well as the food review session not long ago with some fellow bloggers. The thing is I have a mixed feeling about the overall setup during the day as there were lots of confusion among us bloggers and some of us actually ended up leaving early from the event due some miscommunication issue; including me :'( But since I was there to review on the food let's just focus purely on that because despite what happened, how the foods tasted like is more important!

I was given their menu to choose one drink and I opted my usual Ice Caramel Latte. The coffee in Mono Coffee uses their in house blend called Monian premium brew. We were also shown a hand drip coffee demonstration from their barista. Their blend have a tasting notes of dried berries, bitter sweet cocoa and clean finishing with a bit of malty, nutty and roasted pecan fragrance. The house blend Monian consist of blends of the Brazil Yellow Bourbon, Guatamala Antigua and Sumatra Lintang. To me the coffee blend is really nice and tasted really good, a bit on the lighter side and not that kind of bitter and super strong coffee. I like it since it's different and if you don't like strong coffee this might be for you.

Beef & Hashed Benedict (RM17)
Mini Platter; (From Left) Ultimate Sandwich, Pods and Chicken Salad and Stack It

Moving on to their food, I was able to try three menu which are the Stack It, Pods and Chicken Salad and the Ultimate Sandwich. Unable to try the Beef & Hashed 'Benedict' (RM17) as the mini food platter served the Ultimate Sandwich instead.

Pods and Chicken Salad (RM16)

Out of three my favourite is definitely the Pods and Chicken Salad (RM16). It's so great and the flavour is well balanced with the lemon dressing. I bet the grilled chicken with chick peas, edamame beans, cannelini beans, french beans and feta cheese makes the salad healthy and full filling also if you eat it in full size portion. To be honest, it's actually not too much to say that if I were to comeback to Mono Cofee it would be because of this salad. I'm even craving for it now as I'm typing this post. The Ultimate Sandwich is quite good but nothing about it strikes it as special to me.

Stack It (RM14)

Unfortunately the Stack It (RM14) 'fluffy pancake with crispy beef bacon, maple peanut butter, butter syrup and roasted tomato' is not to my liking as it is a tad too dry and not fluffy at all. I was having quite a hard time to finish the mini size of it even when shared between three people. I don't know if it becomes too dry because it is made in mini size or it's really like that but in overall it was thick and too savoury to me.

They also have other range of menu like pasta which I didn't get the chance to try since I ended up leaving early but if you are a coffee junkie, you might want to check this place at least once for it's home blend coffee.
