Benefit Puff Off Review

Hey guys!

beneft puff off

So who else got excited when Benefit first announced that they'll be releasing a new product called the 'Benefit Puff Off Instant Eye Gel'? Well, I don't know about you guys but I was so excited! To be honest, of all Benefit products I've tried so far; none of them were a disappointment to me. Especially the Benefit POREfessional that is just amazing; it's almost like I can't live without it!

So, with high expectation I quickly purchase the Benefit Puff Off in Sephora not even a week after it was first released in Malaysia. I've tried it for a few times now so it's time for product review and my personal opinion!

beneft puff off

This product comes in a cute pastel peach box. It contains 10ml worth of product and the shelf life as stated on the packaging is 6 months. There is a small booklet inside the box with usage instruction. Based on the description, this product will help to smooth out under eyes area so that the puffiness and fine lines will look less visible.

such a cute packagin :) look at the cap!

As usual, Benefit never really lack in the product designing department. This Benefit Puff Off is no exception in showing how cute a Benefit product can look! And well, I totally love cute design like this. The detailing on the cap is one of the thing that I really like about this packaging

iron shaped application tip

It also has a unique applicator tip which is in shape of an iron. I don't know who design this but it's just so cool! Haha! Based on Benefit consumer panel, survey to 31 women after 7 day; 94% said that under eye area looks smoother. Anyway, since this product claims to give instant results so let's see how it works on me.

I decided to test this product two ways. One is under makeup, and the other way is to apply over makeup. The way to apply them is to squeeze once and dot under the eyes (step 1), then using the 'ironing tip' go back and glide to apply it evenly under the eye (step 2).  One extra tip is when wearing over makeup, gently pat with fingertips and blend (step 3).

The product gives off a cooling feeling under the eye right after I apply it on. It has a nice smell that I like and the product consistency is show in the picture below.

not too thick, bit of gel like consistency

Before: Bare Skin

After: Application of Benefit Puff Off on Bare Skin

As you can see above in the before and after pictures are application of Benefit Puff of directly on the bare skin before wearing any make up. As you can see on the eye on the right, before applying the product; the under eye lines is more prominent and 'deeper'. Unlike the instruction which says to just put one dot, I like to apply the product twice under my eyes. You can see on the after picture above, after a few minutes of applying the product you can see that the distinct lines under my eyes started to become less visible. Please pardon the embarrassing tired panda eyes, this what happen when your job requires you to look at computer all the time; and I'm also a night owl so that explains a lot too. LOL

Before: Only foundation and concealer

After: Puff off over foundation and concealer
And above are the before and after picture of Puff Off application over makeup. In this case I only use foundation and concealer as base before applying Puff Off. Please note the picture set for 'on bare skin' and 'over makeup' are actually taken on different days. I stayed up all night the day I took the pictures for 'over makeup' test , so my skin condition is worse that day and my dark circle still can be seen even with concealer. So I used the chance to see if Puff Off actually work out for a more prominent under eye bag and lines. I didn't put too thick of a concealer since I want to make sure we can see still the lines in pictures. The picture doesn't exactly do the justice due to lighting etc. But if you closely look at the before picture, the fine lines is more obvious than in the after picture. You can click on the picture to enlarge it. My eye areas is my biggest concern these days, and after trying up Puff Off I have a few conclusions in overall:

1. It really help to make sure my concealer doesn't creases even after a while, and under eye area looks smoother after full makeup.
2. I like applying the Puff Off first as it tends to make my concealer smudged off a little when I apply it over makeup.
3. Considering my eyes has quite deep and prominent fine lines I think for people who just have a slight under eyes lines they want to hide, this product will work really great on them.

For Malaysian readers, you can purchase this product in Sephora or Benefit outlets.

Top Favourite Online Shopping Site for Beauty Products

Hey guys!

So who likes to shop online? Well, I'm pretty sure most of you have at least try shopping online once. In my case, well you could say I shop online frequently especially when it comes to beauty products. Well to be honest, I think 80% of my online shopping consists of me buying beauty related stuffs. So I decided to share the top three sites with you guys as a recommendation. All the sites below are the one I've shopped with and didn't encounter any problem with the service so far and they're not in any particular order.

One of my favourite site is Hermo. They offer many Asian products especially from South Korea and Taiwan and I especially love Korean beauty brands. One of my favourite thing from this site is that they 'Mask Box' option where you can buy mix 12 different type of mask from various brands. It's just very convenient! For the shipping option, for West Malaysia will get free shipping if they buy more than 2 items in single order. As for East Malaysia, order above RM150 will get free shipping.

Luxola offers free shipping for order above RM40 which is very affordable. It also have a huge selections of brands like 3CE, Beauty Blender, Sleek, Real Techniques etc. The average time of arrival is less than one week for me and I live in Kuala Lumpur. So far they deliver to Singapore, Australia, Brunei, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, and the United Arab Emirates. They also accept local bank payment options such as Maybank2U and CIMBClick.

This is an international website from and the most awesome thing is that it has free international shipping option! All my parcels arrived in good condition so far and despite the free shipping, it usually takes less than two weeks to arrive and for me that's good enough. The products there ranging from clothing to beauty. I usually order Rimmel London products from the site especially my repurchase of Rimmel Stay Matte powder which I absolutely love! Payment can be made through Visa, Master Card, PayPal and more.

So those above are the sites that I frequent go to shop.
Do you have any other recommendation for me?

Lazy Day Makeup Routine

 Hello guys!

Do you have days where you're just too lazy to wear complicated make up and rather go simple and as natural as you can? Well I do feel like that sometimes. My minimal makeup look usually consist of application of foundation or BB Cream, some eyeliner to make my eyes look bigger and awake and lastly a little bit of colour on my lips to make sure I don't look like a ghost :)

But choosing the perfect eyeliner sometimes can be a hassle. Some just smudge too much after wearing it just for a few hours, and some just aren't precise enough. And sometimes, finding the perfect lips product can be a pain too. We want to find something that not only look pretty and not too bold as we want to look as natural as we can but also moisturize our lips enough. Who like chappy lips right?

Well, I have a few product in mind that would be great for a simple makeup look. Let's check it out!

From left: Collection Cosmetic Hotlights Lip Gloss, Maybelline Color Show Nail Laquer in Berry Sexy(004), Koji Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner, Maybelline Baby Lips Electro Pop in Pink Shock, and Shizens Lip Tattoo

1. Koji Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner

I've heard about Dolly Wink eyeliner before I got to try this one. I have to say that I was a bit regretful for not purchasing this earlier. It stays on long, and have a precise tip so it's easy to draw the line. Once the ink dries, a little bit of rubbing won't make it budge. Super love! Will definitely repurchase.

Probability repurchase: 9.5/10

2. Maybelline Baby Lips Electro Pop in Pink Shock

I've been a fan of Maybelline lip balm for quite awhile now. It's just so moisturing, and the colour also turns out nicely. Not to forget it has awesome flavour! And for this one, it's in watermelon. The packaging is cute which also adds on the selling point.

Probability repurchase: 9/10

3. Collection Cosmetic Hotlights Lip Gloss in Glimmer (3)

I'm not really a huge fan of lip gloss. But having this lip gloss on top of this lip balm, the shade just blend perfectly and not to bold. If you want to add a little sparkle on your face, you might want to consider this one.

Probability repurchase: 7.5/10

4. Maybelline Color Show Nail Laquer in Berry Sexy (004)
Well, since this makeup routine is not fixed on just lazy day; if you want to still look natural on face but need a pop of colour, this nail laquer in Berry Sexy is a great way to go. The lighting on the picture doesn't exactly do the justice on the shade, but to describe the colour; it's a very bold metallic purple colour. One coat will be enough, two coat shall make sure the colour is nice and opaque; and it dries off fast too!

Probability repurchase: 8.5/10

You can also opt to apply the Shizens Lip Tattoo before applying the balm as it'll help to reduce fine lines on the lips and lighten up the dark lip colour. You can check out my review on the product HERE.

Note: The products in this post is SPONSORED but my reviews are fully based on my opinion.

[SPONSORED] Shizens Lip Tattoo Review

Hello guys!

If you're looking for a nice 'lip tint/lip balm' like product that doesn't not only stays on long but also have a great lip care benefit, you might want to consider one of Shizen's star product which is the Shizens  Lip Tattoo. I've actually make a short post on this product not long ago when I won the RM200 Shizens voucher which you could read HERE. But since I received another full sized product from the amazing Butterfly Project Beauty Box (thank you!), I guess it is time for a more in depth review.

The Shizens Lip Tattoo comes inside a very simple gold packaging box which I really like. The product itself is stored inside a clear container and the liquid inside is in a milky white colour. In overall, the product screams elegance which usually the case for Shizens brand. The applicator tip is a soft bristle material and it's easy to apply the product with it.

swatched on hand

As I mentioned above, the product has a milky white colour and the texture is also a milky instead of a clear lightweight product. The liquid is not runny enough to spill on your fingers when you use it. It  had the right amount of product on the applicator tip so even with one application you could see the difference.

This product helps to spread moisture on your lips, so get ready to say goodbye to unattractive chappy lips! The formulation helps to reduce the formation of fine lines as well as to lighten dark pigmented lips. So no more dull dark lips for you!

left: before applying, right: with lip tattoo on

As you can see, the application of the product turns my lips into a natural pinkish rosy tone. I really like it because just with one application you can go for a simple 'no makeup' makeup look . Since I've been using this product for quite awhile, I could say that it lasted long enough on my lips.

I've got to say, I really have nothing bad to say about this product. The only downside is probably price wise. The Shizens Lip Tattoo may be considered as a high end product based on it's price. Some may find it a tad to overpriced and might be thinking if it's worth the money. My two cents is if you want to try on a high end lip product, you might want to take this one into consideration. I'm lucky enough to have two now so it is safe to say that I have an extra backup in my stash once I ran out the one I'm currently using! So Yayy!
