1028 Visual Therapy: Brownie Inspired Look Tutorial 🎂

Folks who love doing makeup know that the idea of creating different looks while getting inspirations from our daily lives is something that would bring endless possibilities and surprises. With that in mind, I've been wanting to try to come out with a makeup look that uses a particular theme as a guide and I thought that 'desserts' would be a fun angle to start. So, here is my attempt at doing a 'Brownie' 🎂 inspired makeup look in collaboration with a brand called 1028 Visual Therapy.

Brand Story

1028 Visual Therapy is a Taiwanese brand established late 2008 that focuses on creating products that suit Asian skin tone. On top of that, they are putting a strong emphasis on the word 'therapy' as well so their products are infused with skincare essence to ensure their customer look good while maintaining a healthy skin as well. Now available in Watsons Malaysia stores, they have a wide range of product to choose from. Honestly, I have little experience with Taiwanese makeup brand so it was really exciting for me to discover them!

Brownie Inspired Look

The look that I have in mind is one that is suitable to be used on a daily basis, in both formal and informal setting. I'm using six products from 1028 Visual Therapy for this tutorial which is as shown above. Without further ado, let's us get into it!

I started off with my makeup base using the Moisture Infusion CC Essence Cream from 1028 Visual Therapy in the shade 02. Natural Beige. This CC Cream contains moisturising ingredients, Hyaluronic Acid and also Ceramide which is perfect for my dry skin. With SPF30/PA++ it also has basic sun protection feature so I don't need to worry about wearing too many layers of products during my 'lazy days'. It can also be worn under foundation as a colour corrector. I'm also in love with the scent of this CC cream, it just smells so good!

After putting on the base CC cream, I'm moved on to the 1028 Visual Therapy Ultimate Oil Control Powder. It comes in a cute pink packaging and smells as great as the Moisture Infusion CC Essence Cream. I used this powder all over my face to set the CC cream and I'm just impressed at how smooth it makes my skin looks. The powder is also not too patchy or overly drying for my skin.

I'm especially loving how compact the size of the powder is!

After that, its time to move on to the most important part of this makeup look which is drawing the eyebrow using the Longwear Eyebrow Definer and playing with the 1028 Visual Therapy Brownie Eyes Eyeshadow Palette. I fell in love with the shades available in palette since I've always been a big fan of a more neutral makeup look!

The 1028 Visual Therapy Brownie Eyes Eyeshadow palette comes with six gorgeous brown based shades. Since I can't find any particular name for the shades, let's call them as #1 from the lightest shade (top left) to #6 for the darkest one (bottom right) throughout this blog post for easy reference.

My first impression of this eyeshadow palette is how creamy, smooth and pigmented the shades are. The colours are perfect for day to night use and are definitely great for travel considering how compact the size it. The palette also comes with a mirror and two small brushes which are great for blending. All the eyeshadows are the shimmery type but the glitters are very small and not chunky so it's still fine to be used on a more formal occasion as long as you know how to not overdo it.

Here are the steps I went through to achieve this simple eye makeup:

Step 1:
Using # (top left) 1 as a base, apply the shade all over your lids.

Step 2:
Taking the shade #3 (top right), I used it to create an image of bigger eyes by applying on the outer corner of the eyes as well as the outer corner of the bottom lids.

Step 3:
I used the Shade #6 (bottom right) to create a smokey eye look on 2/3 of my eyelids starting from the outer corner of my eyes and blend it more as I move towards the inside. It is a very pigmented dark brown so make sure to swipe lightly with your brush!

Step 4:
To add more dimension, I use the shade #5 (bottom middle) in the middle of the lids to create some more dimension to the look.

Step 5:
I love how beautiful shade #2 (top middle) looks! Its perfect for highligting certain areas on the face so I use it to highlight the inner corner of my eye, my bottom lids as well as using it as face higlighter by applying some of them on my cheekbones!

The 1028 Visual Therapy Longwear Eyebrow Definer comes with an eyebrow pencil on one side and a spooly brush on the other side. I'm using the shades 02. Dark Brown which complements this Brownie makeup look that I'm doing! It's very easy to apply and didn't smudge like how some others eyebrow products do.

Easy steps to draw eyebrow with 1028 Visual Therapy Longwear Eyebrow Definer:

Step 1: Draw a guide on how you want your eyebrows to look. Personally, I prefer a more natural, almost straight look

Step 2: Fill in the empty space in between of the lines drawn earlier

Step 3: Using the spooly brush at the other end of the eyebrow pencil, use it to soften out the

My favourite kind of eyeliner is when they're black, and in liquid form and the 1028 Visual Therapy Ultimate Super Black Eyeliner in 01 totally fits the bill. It's super easy to apply and the colour payoff is just amazing. I decided to draw a slightly thicker line than usual for this look for a more strong looking eye makeup. After that, it's the time to try out the 1028 Visual Therapy Big Magnifier Mascara before I can finish up my makeup look with a lipstick colour of my choice.

Look at the before (right) and after (left) difference!

The mascara claims to be able to help to give a big eye effect with their Diamond wand tip, and hands down I've got the agree with it. To be honest, I'm not a big fan of mascara as I usually wear my glasses everywhere. I totally hate overly thick mascara, especially when it refuses to dry off completely and start sticking on my glasses lens. Thankfully, this mascara didn't do the same. It dries off perfectly and also feels very lightweight! If you see the before and after picture above, you'll see that I'm not bluffing. To finish of my own spin of this Brownie inspired look, I opted for a darker lip colour (brownish pink) to match the overall feel of my makeup. Of course, if you want it to look more toned down, just changed the lip shade to a softer option like rosy pink. What do you think?

Decided to use a dark lipstick to complement the overall Brownie look!

Overall Thoughts

I would say my first encounter with the brand 1028 Visual Therapy ended well. I love all the products I tried and I think their products are pretty affordable considering the quality they offer. My favourite out of the six products would definitely be the start of this post which is the 1028 Visual Therapy Brownie Eyes Eyeshadow Palette and then the Moisture Intense CC Essence Cream. I just love the formulation and the shade also fits my complexion perfectly!

Repurchase Probability?
I'd pick the 1028 Visual Therapy Moisture Intense CC Essence Cream as I could see myself finishing the whole tube soon.
