I've been into the matte lipsticks game lately thanks to the influence of my colleague/friend Sydney so my stash has been growing considerably fast in these past few months. Of course, that doesn't stop me from trying out more because there is no such thing as 'too many lipsticks'. I am still in the quest of finding the best of out of the bests and to be honest to choose one as the winner now is becoming a really difficult thing to do. There so many good liquid lipstick brands out there that I am totally in love with at the moment!
For today, I am going to talk about the liquid lipsticks from a local brand called Orkid Cosmetics that I have been loving lately. I first heard about this brand is through a blogger friend and has been curious about them for quite awhile. During the last Butterfly Project 4th Birthday Party, I got unexpectedly lucky to find out that the this brand has decided to sponsor us butterflies with not just one but four of their Matte Suede Creamy Liquid Lipsticks!
A little about the brand, the Orkid Cosmetics brand philosophy revolves around three key points; halal, stylish and confident. It's founded with the aim to be a global trendsetting halal cosmetics brand for modern Muslim and conscious women. 100% cruelty-free and vegan, their already have 10 different lipstick shades available on their website www.orkidcosmetics.com
Out of the ten shades available, the four gorgeous shades that I received are Turnt, Vibes, Mars and Blush. The other six shades available on the website are Slay, Luv, Lava, Dime, Deja Vu, and Chicky Baby with each of them priced at only RM39. Honestly, it is a super affordable and the fact that I just love the remaining six colours is not helping at the moment because I am super tempted to get them all!
These lipsticks are packed in a nicely designed box (just see the pattern!) and inside, the products come in a simple and transparent plastic tube. With a slanted applicator, they glides on smoothly so it is pretty easy to apply them on my lips. These babies dries off matte, yet don't feel drying to my lips. They don't budge much either once dries off and are not transferable. I only have to reapply them after eating something super oily or heavy. With added Vitamin E, it helps to care and moisturise the lips as well.
Turnt: Warm chocolate hue. My go-to shade lately.
Blush: Nude pink hue. Sweet and pretty.
Mars: Deep rose hue. Bold and confident.
Vibes: Nude/ Milk chocolate hue. Perfect to pair with bold eye look.
When I first received the lipsticks, my eyes was immediately glued to the brightest and boldest colour out of the four which is Mars. Surprisingly, after swatching them all, I ended up loving the darkness of the shade Turnt. It just speaks to my soul lately and I always find myself carrying it around when I go out of the house.
Overall, I find these Matte Suede Creamy Lipsticks from Orkid Cosmetics really affordable and looks amazing on my lips. I honestly would consider repurchasing my favourite shade Turnt, if I ran out.
