When I first read the news of the movie adaptation of Andy Weir's best-selling novel The Martian, I got really excited . Like super ecstatic; especially since Matt Damon is the lead actor. We all know how great and sexy actor he is both at the same time. I love the novel story line to bits when I first listened to the audio version of it on Audible. Love it so much that I then reread the entire novel all over again soon after that, twice. I recommended the book to a fellow blogger Kak Puteri and she share the same opinion so we ended up going to watch the movie together too.

Synopsis: The Martian tells the story of how astronaut Mark Watney got stranded alone in planet Mars during a manned mission due to a fierce storm. His crew thought that he was dead due to an unexpected accident and had to take off without him but miraculously Watney survived. With very little supplies he started to tackle one problem and another in order to keep on living and at the same time finding a way to signal the Earth and tell them the news.

I love how the movie turned out better than my initial expectation. They don't change anything significant or left out anything important. There were enough technical dialogues and witty comments and that made the two hours and fifteen minutes long movie not boring at all. Matt Damon did amazing on this movie and the Mark Watney character is just a bad ass brilliant botanist and an extraordinary astronaut. Rolling Stone's critic mentioned that 'You won't find a space epic that's more fun to geek out at than The Martian' and I totally agree with it.

I totally recommend you to watch the 3D version of it as it is really amazing. Cinematography? Great shots. Great actors and actress. Overall I'm giving the movie a 9/10 rating. If  you want a better experience when watching the movie, I suggest you read the book first as it'll make it even more fun. Too lazy to read? Maybe you can listen to the audio version at Audible like I did since the narration is really nice to listen too.
