Eastern Crab: Affordable and Halal Chinese Style Seafood Restaurant

Food adventure is never boring, especially when it's done with your best friend. Me and my bestie adore foods, we love trying new foods and we know how to enjoy them too. Gosh, I can't imagine if my bestie is not a food-person. I guess if she is not, we would never been best friend in the first place. HAHA! Friends that eats together, stays together. That is why when I was invited to review the foods at Eastern Crab at Plaza Ampang City, the first person I want to go with that came into my mind is her. We both love seafood and plus, I needed a driver hahahahahah *evil friend*

So, that Saturday, as planned we went to fill in our stomach along with other bloggers that got invited too. Little did we know, we were served with so much foods that day, we all thought our tummy gonna burst. Wonder what we ate? Here comes the long list:

Crab Dishes

Sizzling Black Pepper Crab
Rank: 5th

Salty Egg Yolk Crab
Rank: 2nd

Singaporean Chili Crab
Rank: 4th

Hong Kong Typhoon Shelter Fried Crab
Rank: 3nd

Butter Milk Crab
Rank: 1st

To be honest, it took me awhile to rate these five crab dishes that I tried. They are just so good and meaty and have their own charm but I have got to say that the Buttermilk Crab stole my heart. It just tasted so good on its own, and even better with the mantou (chinese style buns). Thumbs up! Meanwhile, the Hong Kong Typhoon Shelter Fried Crab packs a mean punch with it's crispy shallots on the side, it complements the broccoli dish I had that day really well too (scroll down for picture). My other favourite crab dish from that day is the Salty Egg Yolk Crab, with its creamy sauce, this dish goes well with the mantou too.

Note: Each XXL sized crab in Eastern Crab cost about RM65 each.

You can also order the Fried or Steam Mantou to eat with your dish, especially deep in the crab sauce! They also offers different kind of Fruit Mocktails that you can choose from:

In overall, I just love the foods there. They are delicious and affordable, plus the portion is good since you can choose the size! The restaurant have a classic old restaurant feel to it and I think it's a perfect place to bring your family or friends to chill at during the weekend. My top recommendations will definitely be the crabs:

1. Butter Milk Crab (with Mantou, yummss)
2. Salted Egg Yolk Crab
3. Hong Kong Typhoon Shelter Fried Crab
4. Fried Brocolli with Crab Meat (I can't live without veggies in my meal)

Additional Recommendation: Fresh Mango Cream with Pamelo

You can reach Eastern Crab with the address down below. Don't be skeptical by the dodgy looking building (Plaza Ampang City) as it can look pretty old (and a bit scary looking to be honest). The restaurant have a pretty good review on FB (and its true too), you can check out their Facebook page if you don't believe me.
