I had the privilege to check out Teh Tarik Place in Menara UOA Bangsar thanks to FoodInk. I personally really like Mamak style food so it was something I look forward to. Due to unexpected traffic jam my arrival was delayed but thankfully I made it right where everyone just started eating.
Kacang Pool Set (RM9.90)
The first menu that I noticed as I arrived is a plate of Kacang Pool with a crispy toast on the side. Funny thing is that I've heard of the dish several time before but that day was actually the first time I actually got to try it. I actually quite like the savoury taste combined with the buttery toast. If you don't know, Kacang Pool is a Johorean dish and if you never tried it, you might want to come check it out!
Roti Canai (RM2.50)
Being a roti canai mania, I can't help but be drawn to the food as soon as I sat down. So it is not surprising that it turned out to be my favourite out of all the menu I tried on the day. The crispiness of the roti canai along with the side curry, dhal and sambal tumis made me keep munching one after another. I love the harmony! The best part, it's so cheap and fulfilling. Gotta love this food to be a true Malaysian *giggles*
Asam Pedas Salmon (RM14.90)
Up next is the fusion Malaysian dish Asam Pedas Salmon. I usually love salmon when it's raw, not cooked (sashimi) *yumss* so I was a bit skeptical to see this menu. Turn out, it was not bad at all. Some might find it a bit too foreign but the fish actually goes well with the Asam Pedas. I'm not a big fan of asam pedas in the first place but my family loves it so it's something I frequently eat. If you love Asam Pedas, you might want to give this a try! It comes with plain rice and some salad and cucumber on the side.
Nasi Lemak Biasa
Nasi Lemak Ayam Rendang
We also had three different type of Nasi Lemak that day. You can opt for plain old school Nasi Lemak Biasa, or spice it up with Nasi Lemak Ayam Rendang. But if you want to be a little bit more adventurous, you can also try out the Nasi Lemak Sambal Strawberry too! Sounds weird? Initially I thought the same but after giving it a try, the sweet and sour strawberry sambal is a quite nice addition to the dish. The taste is actually quite similar to Acar Buah we usually had with Nasi Briyani. Nasi Lemak price range from RM5.50-RM12.50

We also got to try two other menu, Kuey Teow Cantonese and Sizzling Yee Mee. I love the creamy and soupy Kuey Teow Cantonese and the portion is quite big too. Unfortunately, the Sizzling Yee Mee sauce was too salty.

Last but not least one of my top favourite dish that day is the Keropok Lekor Rainbow. I think it's such a great dish to have if I want to 'lepak' or hang out with my friend. It's crispy and comes in a convenient bite-size. You can ask to separate the sauce if you don't want it to get soggy fast!

Just RM1000 up to 2 hours at a flat rate and an additional of RM500 if you want food to be provided as well for 20 pax (add on additional RM25 per pax).
