Mentholatum Botanics: Affordable Skincare with Great Quality Ingredients

Hello, guys!

What is your biggest worry these days? As cliche as it might sound, I have been having a real headache over money management in these last few months. Although I don't think I suck at it, but I wish I can do it better. So at the end of almost every month, I will face a rather common question. Where did all my money go? *laugh at myself* Undeniably, the cost of living in Kuala Lumpur has increased tremendously. Really, it's insane. I have to cut cost on a lot of things, especially on beauty products. No more crazy shopping and haul. There were some inevitable accidents though (excuses haha). At least now it's done minimally (can't help myself sometimes, I'm an addict lol) because I know that I still need skincare products to take care of my already bad skin. So in order to save more, these days I'm turning back to all the trusted and affordable drugstore products.

Awhile ago, as if they are knowing exactly what I'm thinking, I received an invitation from Mentholatum x The Butterfly Project to attend a quick introductory event for the new Mentholatum Botanics skincare line in 1Utama. I went with high excitement but tried to keep a low expectation in mind but ended up coming home feeling pretty impressed. This newly launched skincare from Mentholatum might be the best replacement if you're looking for affordable skincare products like me. Seriously, the price is not bad at all!

Before going on with more details, let me introduce you with the Mentholatum Botanics line first. This line comes with four different products ranging from three type of facial cleansers and selections of mask sheets. The great part? Each range has different types that specify the function clearly and the type of skin that's suitable for it. You won't have to squint your eyes reading label as it's easily seen.

Mentholatum Botanics: Face Wash

Only at RM14.90 (100g)
Available in:
1. Hydrating Face Wash (Dry/Combination Skin)
2. Deep Cleansing Face Wash (Dry/Combination Skin)
3. Hydra Whitening Face Wash (All Skin Type)
4. Pore Refining Face Wash (Oily/Combination Skin)

My thoughts:
I think it's awesome that I got the one for dry skin type. Since I have dry/combination skin I was really looking forward to be trying this one out for the first time. The price is really affordable and the scent is of Calendula and Jasmine makes me so happy.

Mentholatum Botanics: Pump Face Wash

Only at RM21.90 (150ml)
Available in:
1. Moisturizing and Brightening Face Wash (All Skin Type)
2. Deep Clean Face Wash (Dry/Combination Skin)

My thoughts:
I tried the Rosehip type and oh, I like the floral scent. The easy pump bottle makes it easier to dispense the product too. Although like many other pump-type facial or body wash liquid, a bit of it tend to clump a little when the product is pumped out since the tip got exposed to the air. Other than that, this removes makeup well too and one pump is plenty enough to use.

Mentholatum Botanics: Foaming Pump Face Wash

Only at RM25.90 (160ml)

Available in:
1.Whitening Foaming Wash (All Skin Type)
2. Oil & Blemish Control Foaming Wash (Dry/Combination Skin)

My thoughts:
My favourite of them all. I love how soft the foam is and well, one pump is enough to remove all the makeups on my face (sometimes when I ran out of wipes I'll just use my cleanser #confession). My mom loves this one best too. I have yet to ask my brother but I think he like this one the most too considering how light the bottle is now in our bathroom. LOL. Yes, I share my beauty stuffs so I get more opinion. I like the smell for this one too (tea tree/ylang ylang), refreshing and not too strong.

Mentholatum Botanics: Mask Sheets Selections

Only at RM6.90 (22ml)

Available in:
1. Lavender (Soothing & Repairing)
2. Rosemary(Pure Refining)
3. Pomegranate (Anti-Oxidant & Hydration)
4. Rosehip Oil (Brightening & Firming)
5. Aloe Vera (Hydration & Brightening)

My thoughts:
Who doesn't like face mask? I just love to put them on after a long day at work. Cool it in the fridge, and voila cheap stress therapy time is ready at home.I managed to try the lavender type which is targeted to soothe and repair the skin. It doesn't give my skin any weird reaction and the cotton sheet is not too flimsy or thin. Just nice! I might buy the others to try too.

In overall, it's definitely a great choice if you are looking for an affordable skincare that will actually help to remove makeup and dirts. Do note that result may vary on individuals and I share this based on what I thought.
