One of my new year resolutions is to start reviewing all the beauty products that I have been using but never got the chance to write about last year. My shopping habit in 2016 has totally changed from how it used to be (read: ex-Sephora serial shopper). These days, rather than shopping at the counters, I realised that I've been doing online shopping a lot more instead; and working at Althea kind of made it worse HAHA. That is why, a majority of the products I have been wanting to write about were purchased from Althea (I always fail to resist the temptation just like others LOL). Knowing that there are tonnes of new K-beauty brands to discover excites me; thus, the unstoppable spending! My vanity drawer is kind of filled up to the brim right now, so I've been putting myself on a shopping ban. Does anyone relate to this?!

For my first K-beauty review of 2017, I am going to start off with two skincare products from a K-beauty brand called B-Lab which are the B-Lab I Am Sorry Just Cleansing Peeling Gel & B-Lab I Am Sorry I Am Just Cleansing Water. What quirky names right? They totally managed to pique my interest when I first saw them on the website. With a very simple design, I could just imagine how Instagram-worthy this range would be.

My skin is pretty sensitive and dry, so I am naturally more drawn towards exfoliating/peeling type products that would work gently on my skin. Without constant exfoliation, my makeup will end up being too flaky (especially when using cushion type foundation). Due to that reason, I have tried a fair share amount of different type peeling products from gel, mask, cleanser and mist. The B-Lab Natural Cleansing Peeling Gel retails at RM40 on Althea website, which is pretty affordable in my opinion. It comes in a very simple tube packaging, and I just love the minimal black and white design of it. Like I said above, that was one of the reasons why it caught my eyes in the first place. I'm just a sucker for interesting packaging!

Going through the ingredients list of the B-Lab I'm Sorry Just Cleansing Peeling Gel, I can see some 'big names' in the skincare world is being used in the products, including royal jelly extract, snail secretion filtrate and witch hazel extract. For skincare junkies, these ingredients already have a solid reputation for being beneficial to the skin. The gel texture is pretty light and it works quickly peeling off all the dead skin from my skin. This whole tube goes a long way; even with a small amount of it, I was able to cover a pretty wide area of the skin. I'm especially liking the 'tangy' scent of this peeling gel as it kind of reminds me of my favourite lime sorbet ice cream.

Repurchase value: 4.5/5

Next is the cleansing water from the same range, the B-Lab I Am Sorry Just Cleansing Water. This product comes in two sizes and I got myself the smaller one to try out first. It also has a minimal packaging like the previous. Work to cleanse, moisturise and soothe the skin while providing care for the pores, this product does not need any rinsing off after usage.

This cleansing water contains ingredients such 92% Aloe Barbadensis (aloe water) extract and Melissa Officinalis (lemon balm) extract that are well known for their low irritation and calming properties. It's definitely gentle on my skin as I don't get that stinging sensation I had experienced with some other cleansing water. It removes makeup effectively even for the waterproof, smudge proof type. The only thing that bothers me is the scent. I don't know why but it just smells like coconut water (despite not having any coconut ingredient in it). Unfortunately, I am not a big fan of coconut scent in my skincare so that is kind of a turn off.

These days, people are starting to choose products that are more eco-friendly and contains natural ingredients and these B-Lab I'm Sorry Cleansing Water and Peeling Gel are certified with Eco-cert which makes them a great option to consider. It retails for RM17 (100ml) and RM52 (500ml) on Althea.

Repurchase value: 4/5 (cause the scent is not my fav, but if you love coconut scent go for it!)
