Aveeno: My New Dry Skin Companion 💧

When I was younger, I always wondered why people put on lotion in the first place. I use to hate them, because of how sticky they can be in Malaysia hot and humid weather. But lately, I can't seem to live without a good lotion. My hands have been getting drier than usual that I seem to run out of hand creams just like how I usually run out on pocket tissues; which is in a flash! This could be caused by my morning to evening desk job that has me exposed to the cold air in the air-conditioned room all day, or just due to my age factor, but my dry hands have become one of my biggest skin concern lately.

I mean, I have moisturisers that I love for my face but its so hard to find any hand cream/lotion that I like for my hands. Some are too sticky, some are to 'perfume-ish' and some just sucks. It was great timing when Aveeno Malaysia sent me a bottle of their Daily Moisturizing Lotion to try out because I was in the midst of looking for a new hand cream to replace the amazing Huxley Secret of Sahara Hand Cream (Eros gave me to use because he hates rose scented products hihu). Why don't I just stick with Huxley if I like it? I just love discovering new products. Don't you think its exciting?

Despite being newly launched in Malaysia, Aveena and Aveeno Baby are pretty well-known being founded in the US in 1945. The brand name Aveeno was derived from the Latin word Avena which means 'oat'. So yeah, you should grasp it by now then. Aveeno and Aveeno products use oat as the key ingredients in their formulation. Known to be good for dry, irritated and itchy skin, one unique aspect of Aveena products is the ACTIVE NATURALS ingredients (colloidal oat, avenanthramides and oat oil) used in them in order to create the Triple Oat Complex that can deliver up to 9X antioxidant power to the skin. Colloidal Oatmeal helps to seal in moisture, while Avenanthramides soothes and clams irritate skin. Lastly, the Oat Oil will strengthen the skin's natural moisture barrier so your skin will be protected and healed all at the same time. Did you know? Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion

The Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion (345ml, RM44.25) claims to help relieves and protect dry skin while giving moisturisation for 24 hours. It is said to be clinically proven to show significant improvement of your skin health in just 2 weeks as well. I love that it is fragrance-free, non comedogenic and of course dermatologically tested as well. Also contains the ACTIVE NATURALS ingredients, this lotion is fast absorbing and non-greasy. I've been using it on a daily basis for more than a week now and I can vouch for that. Less than a pump is needed to give my hands that soft feeling as if there is a thin layer of balmy goodness is there to protect my skin from becoming dry again. Once totally absorbed, your hands won't feel greasy if you wash it afterwards.

I can't say much about the lasting power since I don't have a scientific instrument (moisture meter) to test it out but I personally apply it on 2-3 times per day. Maybe I am just addicted haha. I just love the balmy feel it gives my hand. Price wise, I would say that it is slightly higher than some other similar product, for example, Johnson's and Vaseline but for what it's worth, I like this lotion better than the two (less perfumey and more moisturising).
