Mamonde Flower Lab Essence Mask Review 🌸

Mamonde Mask

Annyeong, friends!
Lately, I am on a roll with Mamonde. Been using more of their products that's been hiding in my stash + some of the new ones sent to me by their PR team. One of the more recent ones that I have is the new Mamonde Flower Lab Essence Mask range and being a mask sheet addict, it caught my eyes immediately. I published a review on the Mamonde Flower Essential Mask range before so I wanted to see if there is any difference between the two.

At first glance, I was kind of guessing that the Flower Lab Essence range to probably be the upgraded version of the Mamonde Flower Essential range. The type of flowers used for each of the variants available in the range is pretty much the same. On top of that, I can't seem to find the previous range being sold on their website anymore. Just a rough guess though, they could be totally different from each other in terms of the formulation.

Mamonde Mask

The Mamonde Flower Lab Essence Mask comes in 10 different types but I've managed to only try five of them (highlighted in green); Narcissus (Replenishing), Magnolia (Brightening), Rose (Hydrating), Camellia (Firming), Calendula (Soothing), Evening Primrose (Nourishing), Honeysuckle (Boosting), Pomegranate (Illuminating), Hibiscus (Moisturising), and Eoseongcho (Exfoliating). Upon reading further about the product, I found out that the type of essence used in each variant of the masks can be categorised into three main texture in order to provide the best solution for each skin concern; gel, serum and emulsion. Interesting right?

Mamonde Calendula Mask

Jelly Type Essence: A dense type of essence with a refreshing finish that effectively delivers flower extract along with soothing effect to the skin.

My Opinion: After using the Calendula mask which is a jelly type, I think the closest comparison for this is an aloe vera gel. The jelly is pretty similar to aloe vera gel texture but slightly denser. I would say this is my favourite texture of all three. Just because it feels nicer to have a jelly essence, and it took longer to get totally absorbed which means extra masking time for me. Yayy!

Mamonde Rose Mask
Mamonde Magnolia Mask

Serum Type Essence: A serum type essence with a refreshing texture that allows for the ideal absorption of flower extracts and treats and moisturizes the skin.

My Opinion: The serum type that I tried so far is quite like and non-sticky. My favourite serum would be the Rose! Another serum type that I have tried from this range are Magnolia and Narcissus. The amount of essence they give in each of these masks are seriously so worth it! I have extra to squeeze out to add to the mask, more for my neck area and even for my dry elbows too.

Mamonde Camellia Mask

Emulsion Type Essence: An emulsion type essence with abundant nourishment that leaves the skin smooth and luminous.

My opinion: Out of the five variants that I've used over the week, Camellia is the only with emulsion type essence. Its slightly thicker than the more 'watery' serum type but its not sticky at all! Just like the other two. My skin feels amazing after using it and looking glowy too.

Mamonde Narcissus Mask

Like I mentioned above, with 2,000ppm flower extract (25ml essence) in each pack, Mamonde stays true to their #InspiredByFlowers aspiration and I personally love the scent of each of the masks that I've tried so far. Of course, Rose is the best. Speaking of rose scent, I am also currently using their best selling Rose toner, and hopefully, I'll be able to drop my full review soonest! Also just discovered their Rose Water Gel Cream which is so nice by the first impression and now I am adding it into my wishlist of stuff to get next.

Anyhoo, back to the masks. I think the sheet for this range is slightly thinner than what I've used previously (if I remember correctly). Not that I am complaining though, it uses the 'Light Fit Cell' technology which made it thin but I feel that it managed to hold on to a lot of the essence and does not slip off easily from the face only I've put them on. It so light and thin, it's almost fully translucent. So yeah, I am pretty loving this range especially the Calendula and Rose variant! Thinking of getting more in the future + the other five that I've yet to try. The Eoseongcho variant is pretty interesting since it provides 'exfoliating' benefit which is pretty unusual for a sheet mask.

Repurchase Probability: 4.9/5
**I really love this range, didn't give a perfect score because I've yet to try another five.

Hopefully, this review helps and I'll see you in another post soon! For more information about Mamonde, check them out on mamondegarden.my, or facebook.com/mamonde.my or Instagram @mamondemalaysia.
